As a teen of the 90’s and frequent patron of my absolute favorite chain restaurant Red Lobster, I used to always order coconut shrimp. When presented with a platter of this nostalgic appetizer, my mom would get so annoyed as I would gleefully pop them into my mouth one by one until every last morsel was consumed. She wanted some too but I wanted them all! I have always loved crispy breaded shrimp and the coconut calls out to my tropical sensibilities. I’m not sure why some foods go “out of style” but I wanted to let you know that the 90’s are back and they want you to eat this shrimp.
